We are delighted to announce that Ann-Marie Carroll, a passionate environmental scientist from Grand Bahama, has joined the Blue Action Lab team as our new Project Manager. Ann-Marie recently earned a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Stirling in Scotland and holds the distinction of being the first official graduate of the Hayward Chevening Scholarship program. This prestigious program provides exceptional young Bahamians with the opportunity to pursue fully funded master’s degrees at top universities in the UK, covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and air travel for up to three years.
Ann-Marie exemplifies how Blue Action Lab attracts world-class talent while championing the careers of Grand Bahamians in the blue and green economies. Her deep understanding of the local environment, combined with her global education and training, equips her with a unique skill set that will greatly benefit Blue Action Lab’s mission and the broader global fight against climate change. We are confident she will emerge as one of the next generation’s most impactful leaders.
Last month, Ann-Marie coordinated the international diplomat event at Conservation Cove, where we showcased our groundbreaking efforts to advance The Bahamas’ blue and green economies.
Reflecting on the importance of her work, Ann-Marie stated: “Conservation Cove is committed to tackling climate issues with a grassroots approach that focuses on community involvement, education, and the promotion of a sustainable blue economy.
That is why visits like this one are so important. It is vital that both the local and international communities understand the significance of the work we do here and the constant need for new partnerships and collaborations in the effort to develop resilient technologies for the future.”
